Yellowstone - A Wildlife Wonderland

There’s a place where buffalo herds roam free, and grizzly bears lumber right out of the woods in front of you. It’s known as Yellowstone. Sometimes referred to as the Serengeti of North America its a place where nature has reclaimed the land and we are just visitors.

A curious mule deer eyes us cautiously. Everywhere you turn  there’s wildlife here, Its a reminder of what can be.

Wolves and coyotes hunt freely in Yellowstone, they’re an essential part of the ecosystem. They’re awesome to watch as they roam the hills and riverbanks. They instill wonder and respect as you observe them in action.

Still dripping river water from his crossing in the Hayden valley a huge grizzly lumbers past us, his massive shoulders swaying from side to side. These mighty giants appear clumsy and slow until you watch one charge across an open meadow.

Old faithful erupts skyward its plume carrying thousands of gallons of superheated water. Geysers shoot plumes hundreds of feet in the air and hot springs warm the chill winter air.

Perched high on a cliffs edge wild mountain goats leap from one rocky perch to another.

A chance encounter on a hillside. Majestic elk roam Wyoming’s mountains. They’re a thrill to watch, their eerie call dancing through the trees.
